  43. Choosing and Using an Electric Dog Fence

Know your Dog Type The first consideration when selecting your electric dog fence is determining which type of dog fence is appropriate for your dog. The type of dog fence that would work in containing a small or medium sized dog may not be the correct type of dog fence for use with larger or stubborn dogs. Electric dog fences work by administering a corrective static pulse to your dog when it breaches the boundary defined by the dog fence layout. PetSafe offer two such variants of this dog fence. One of the dog fences, the PetSafe standard radio fence, is designed to be used with small and medium size dogs and the other, the PetSafe super radio fence, invisible electric dog fence to be used on larger and stubborn dogs. The electric fence for the smaller dogs has only one level of static correction, while for larger dogs the electric fence has 5 different levels of correction. Both of these electric dog fences can be set up by burying the boundary wire in the ground to create an invisible dog fence. read more
